Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah has called on people of Abia State to maintain good neighbourliness and peaceful coexistence with their neighbours and host communities, ABN TV reports.
The Minister made the call on Friday while delivering a lecture at the 2021 Nzuko Ndi Abia retreat which took place in Calabar, Cross River state capital.
With the topic ‘Politics, Innovation and Development in Nigeria’ the lecture seeks to sensitise Abians resident in Calabar on the need for peaceful coexistence between them their host communities.
Ogah stated that the country can achieve meaningful progress in an environment of rancour.
The Minister also called on youths to move away from complaining about bad leadership to taking active part in their governance process.
He insisted that those who do not take part in the country’s political field do not have the right to cast aspersions over bad leadership.
The gathering also had in attendance notable sons and daughters of Abia State residing in Cross Rivers State as well as Igbos from other States.
The Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar, the Commissioner of Police Cross River State, CP Akande and a representative of the Governor of Cross Rivers State were also in attendance.
