The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah has congratulated the Christian fold across the country and Abia in particular at the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration, calling on all Christian faithful to imbibe the tenets of love and peaceful co-existence.
Dr. Ogah said despite challenges confronting the nation, particularly security and economic, there are several reasons to be grateful to God for.
While calling on Nigerians to show charity to their neighbours and strive to be at peace with one another irrespective of religious and ethnic differences, the Minister said the Easter celebration presents a veritable opportunity to re-commit the nation’s affairs to the throne of grace for ultimate guidance.
“Undoubtedly, our dear nation is not an exemption from variegated challenges confronting nations of the world. Irrespective of the challenges bordering on insecurity, economic downturn largely precipitated by the outbreak of COVID-19, Nigeria is still surging forward as a giant example of a movement in right direction.
“The need for all Nigerians and indeed people of our dear State to come together for a more united and indivisible nation through prayers and solicitations cannot be over emphasized.
“We must use the opportunity of this Easter to demonstrate the love which Christ, the pillar of the Christian faith exhibited when He died for undeserving friends like us. Peace, which is at the heart of Christ’s message must not only be our watchword but must reign in our hearts.
“The greatness of our dear country can only be achieved when we collectively become part of the effort to lift our nation to enviable heights” he said.
