Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, congratulated the new Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, his deputy, Hon. Austin Mmeregini, and all other elected principal officers and members on your successful Inauguration and swearing-in as Members of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly.
Describing their inauguration as a momentous occasion, the former minister said with this feat, they have been assigned a task in the New Abia project.
In a statement on Thursday, he urged the lawmakers to use their offices to bring positive changes to their constituencies and the state in general.

He said, “Fellow compatriots, by the reason of your electoral victories and subsequent induction as honorable members in the State House of Assembly, you have been assigned a task in the New Abia project.
“As you embark on this important role, I encourage you to be proactive in seeking knowledge and staying updated on legislative matters so that you can effectively contribute to the legislative process and bring positive change to your constituency and Abia in general.
“Being Members of the Abia State House of Assembly means that you are now a representative of the people entrusted with the task of voicing their concerns, advocating for their rights, and making decisions that shape the future of the Constituency.
“As a legislator, it is important to foster the spirit of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in your work. Your constituents have entrusted you with their hopes and aspirations, and they expect you to uphold the highest standard of integrity.
“Abia can’t continue on the negative trajectory it found itself over the years. You are expected to make laws for the good governance of our State irrespective of political affiliation and be a true watchdog and partner in progress with the executive.
“Once again, on behalf of my family and supporters, I congratulate you. May you all have the wisdom, knowledge, and capacity to discharge your responsibilities with utmost diligence. I wish you all the best and God’s guidance on this remarkable journey of public service”
