Obidients In Rivers Stage Protest Over Outcome Of Presidential Election

Several Obidients held a protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s state headquarters in Port Harcourt.

The demonstrators carried placards with various messages requesting that their mandate be restored and that the judges do the right thing.

One of the protestors, who identified herself as a “Concerned Frustrated Nigerian Woman,” told reporters on Wednesday (today) that they are protesting on behalf of Obidients in Rivers State, in solidarity with those in Nasarawa State and Abuja.

The woman maintained that Obidients are rejecting the conclusion of the presidential election at the national level and the Rivers State result.

“What we bargained for was not what we got.” We say no, and we are requesting and demanding that INEC reinstate our mandate.

“That was our vote, and we want it back.” The person we voted for was not the person named president-elect.” She said.

Another demonstrator, who did not want to be identified, stated that the presidential election results did not reflect transparency.

“I do not believe Nigerians deserve this.” We require a better Nigeria. What occurred did not reflect transparency. Nigeria must be peaceful. We are here to facilitate a peaceful process. We expect them to uphold our constitution.”
