It was an evening of glitz and glamor as the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ awarded Rep. Benjamin Kalu as a ‘Model of Media and Public Relation Matters’ in an Award night which took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Friday 24th March, 2022.
The award which was in recognition of his outstanding work as Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs as well as the Spokesperson of the 9th House of Representatives was presented to him by the Majority Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Al Hassan Ado-Doguma.
Rep. Kalu while receiving the award appreciated the National Union of Journalists for this recognition stating that this is an encouragement to do more work in the media. He acknowledged the journalists for the work they are doing to promote the ethos of our democracy as a nation, praying that as a body they will continue to do much greater things.
Other Awardees at the event include; Senate President, His Excellency Sen. Ahmad Lawal, Rt. Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Deputy Senate President, Sen. Obasiri Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Sen. Smart Adeyemi, Hon. Abubakar Kabir, Chairman House Committee on Works, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Abia State, amongst other members of the National Assembly.
