The Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended two suspects and seized a vehicle carrying vandalized railway sleepers in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the NSCDC spokesman, Saminu Yusuf, the suspects were arrested on Tuesday following credible intelligence.

Operatives intercepted a white Peugeot J5 bus, registration number KTG 40 XF, loaded with 80 pieces of vandalized railway sleepers and four bags of charcoal.

The State Commandant, Oloyede Oyerinde, praised the officers for their prompt action and reiterated the Corps’ dedication to safeguarding critical national infrastructure.

He warned those involved in vandalism that they would face the full force of the law and called on the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies to help prevent sabotage.
