The Chairman PDP National Campaign Council for Anambra Governorship Election and Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has charged Anambra people to rise to the challenge of ensuring that PDP wins the forthcoming gubernatorial polls scheduled for Saturday November 6th,2021.
According to the Governor, a win for the PDP in the Anambra election will symbolize a turning point in the country and the hope that a greater Nigeria under the PDP will resonate again.
At a strategy meeting of the Council he hosted in his Umuobiakwa Country Home ahead of the Anambra governorship election, the governor noted that the PDP had not won election into the Anambra Government House for a long time, insisting that it has led to despondency among the people adding that the story has to change, Onyebuchi Ememanka, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said in a statement obtained by ABN TV on Sunday.
According to the statement, the governor promised to mobilize the other PDP Governor of the South East and other leaders in the region, first for there to be peaceful elections in Anambra and for the party to emerge victorious.
“Ikpeazu while noting that Anambra people have a duty to protect their votes, urged them to lead the charge in recovering the state for the PDP.
“In his speech, the PDP Governorship Candidate in Anambra State, Mr Valentine Ozigbo thanked governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his immense support and assured that PDP has all it takes to win the forthcoming election as it is on ground and intends to make Ndi Anambra proud.
“In a vote of thanks, the PDP Chairman Anambra State, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for hosting the meeting and for his immense support for the gubernatorial candidate, assuring that no stone will be left unturned with a view to securing total victory for the PDP.
“Highlights of the meeting was the announcement of the sub-committees of the campaign Council while the Deputy Governor Sir Ude Okochukwu, Senate Minority leader Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Chairman of the Anambra State PDP Campaign Council, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Secretary of the National Campaign Council and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, former Minister of Environment and Member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Mrs Laurentia Mallam, Abia State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Obinna Nwachukwu, amongst other dignitaries attended the meeting” the release added.
