A popular Nollywood actor, Kalu Ikeagwu, on Monday, informed Ikeja High Court how his wife, Ijeoma, allegedly abandoned their matrimonial home and denied him sex after giving birth to their son.
The actor in the suit marked LD/8939HD/2021, seeks a divorce of his six-year-old marriage to Ijeoma.
The actor is also requesting full custody of his three-year-old male child and ten-year-old step-daughter.
After a series of thorough discussions by the respondent’s counsel, Mrs S.I. Amedu, Ikeagwu said his wife left his matrimonial home and sent him a message that she was on her way back to her father’s house in Enugu.
The actor further said in his statement that “she told me she was at her father’s place in Enugu and four days later, I met her at the airport in Lagos, heading to an unknown place. In the message she sent, she confirmed she was in Enugu.”
Ikeagwu also debunked the claim that he sent his wife and kids out of the house and failed to provide for their betterment.
He said, “I did not evict her out of the house. Someone has to tell me why it takes four days to travel to Enugu from Lagos.
The actor further informed the court that his wife denied him sex and also poured water on him while he was asleep.
The accuser also said he did not know that his wife lost a pregnancy due to an infection she had while they were still together.
He now requested for divorce of the marriage and also told the court that he wants the children to be in his care.
