The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has said he is unapologetic about supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election.
Wike, who stated this at a thanksgiving service in Ochigba organised by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of the state, expressed gratitude to the president for believing in him.
The former Rivers governor who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was appointed by Tinubu as FCT minister in the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
Wike’s allegiance to the president continues to ruffle feathers and addressing the issue, the former said he has no regrets for doing so.
“I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity comes I will do the same thing,” Wike stated.
On the allegation of land grabbing levelled against him, he denied the claim, questioning how that could be true when he is in charge of lands in Abuja.
“I am in charge of lands in Abuja, how will I go and grab what I am in charge of.
“We must thank Mr President. If he did not give us this opportunity, we wouldn’t have known. Here in Rivers State, we thought it was difficult.
“When you go to the capital, you know you are dealing with the entire Nigerians.
“I can assure you, no matter the cry you cry, no matter the propaganda you carry, if you like give me any name you want to give me, the right thing must be done,” Wike added.
