Abia State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu has said that no governor in the history of the state has done better in the area of infrastructure than governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The Commissioner made this known on Monday when he featured on current affairs programme, The Platform on Flo FM Umuahia monitored by ABN TV.
He said the new facelift Aba is witnessing today is attributable to the infrastructural revolution of the governor.
While calling on residents of Aba to desist from blocking drainages in the city to avoid flooding, he maintained that it is the responsibility of citizens to secure infrastructure in the state, adding that if a flood washes off the newly constructed roads in the city, it will be to the disadvantage of the residents.

Responding to alleged flooding of Aba, the Commissioner insisted that the governor does not have the power to stop rain from falling, stating that there will be flash flooding whenever there is a heavy downpour.
Chief Okiyi Kalu observed that the floods drain thirty minutes after rainfall, adding that there is no flooding in Aba.
“Governor Ikpeazu has not stopped the rain from falling. And anytime there is rainfall, particularly very heavy rainfall like the type you see in Aba, chances are that you will have what we call flash flooding.
“Now the question is, thirty minutes after the rainfall, what happens? If you go to the US, UK, Lagos or anywhere at all in the world, when you have heavy rainfall, you will have flash floods.
“The question is what happens after? I can sit down here and say to you, thirty minutes after every rain, the water would drain” he said.
The Commissioner while insisting that the state government has not guaranteed that there will not be rainfall in the state appealed to Aba and Umuahia residents to allow the road infrastructure being put in place by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to last, urging them to properly dispose of their refuse.
