Afaraukwu community in Umuahia North local government area of Abia state is currently in turmoil as one Ms. Uzunma Ogala Doris is being accused of truncating the wheel of development by stopping road construction work in the community.

Speaking with ABN TV on Saturday, a member of the community and younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Prince Emmanuel Kanu alleged that contractors handling the construction of the community road is being frustrated by Ms. Uzunma Ogala Doris when she insisted that they will not keep the chippings used in the construction work at a location near her residence.

This however did not go down well with the community who accused her of obstructing development.

Narrating further, Prince Kanu said when he visited the scene, Ms. Ogala confronted him by holding him on the shirt in readiness for a free for all fight.

He said he invited the President General of the town union, Chief Ikechukwu Ndubeze to intervene on the matter.

According to Prince Kanu, while he was interacting with Chief Ndubueze, some hoodlums led by the younger brother of irate lady launched, Chikuba an attack of the President General, injuring him with a sharp object.

This however attracted the anger of the youths, leading to a fight at the scene. Ms. Ogala was said to have invited the police who came to hear from both warring parties.

That was not the end as she was alleged to have invited another set of police over the same matter the next day.

Prince Kanu alleged that she has been filing petitions against him with the Directorate of States Service (DSS), accusing him of bringing IPOB members to the community.

While denying the allegation, he emphasized that prior to his father’s death last year, he maintained peace with the community, saying he will likewise toll the same path.

He said Ms. Ogala is a settler who has overreached her bounds, adding that the community will take a decision on her stay.

Prince Kanu also alleged that there is a plan to remove the President General of the town union, Chief Ndubueze from the backdoor and form a parallel government, insisting that this will not happen.

All efforts made to reach Ms. Ogala proved abortive.
