The trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), resumed today in Abuja, with a brief court session in which he pleaded not guilty to the seven-count charges brought against him by the federal government, ABN TV reports.
During the proceedings, Kanu’s lead counsel, Kanu Agabi SAN, tendered an apology to the court on behalf of his client for an outburst during the last sitting.
The court subsequently adjourned the case to April 29, as well as May 2 and 6, 2025, for further hearings.
Kanu was represented by a team of senior legal practitioners, including Kanu Agabi SAN, Uche Njoku SAN, Aloy Ejimakor Esq, and Maxwell Opara Esq, among others.
The trial, which has drawn national and international attention, continues to be a focal point of legal and political discourse in Nigeria.
