Nnamdi Kanu Challenges Court’s Jurisdiction, Accuses Judge Of Bias (VIDEO)

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has questioned the jurisdiction of Justice Binta Nyako in handling his trial, insisting that she has no legal authority over his case.

Kanu, who appeared in court today, claimed he attended out of “courtesy and respect” but maintained that Justice Nyako is recused from the matter and should not preside over it.

During his statement in court, Kanu alleged that there were hidden forces influencing the judicial process in Nigeria. “There are things happening in this country that a lot of you do not know,” he said. “It is my duty to make that very, very clear to all of you. The lies are too much.”

The IPOB leader also revealed that he had filed a petition with the National Judicial Council (NJC), although he declined to disclose its contents. He accused Justice Belinda Nyako of using her position for personal gain and claimed that her family members were involved in manipulating the legal process.

Kanu further alleged that the Nigerian government orchestrated his extradition from Kenya in violation of international law and insisted that there was no legitimate case against him. “Nigeria went to Kenya and kidnapped me. These things are in the public domain. Why then are they insisting on trying me?” he questioned.

The trial has continued to generate controversy, with Kanu’s legal team arguing that his extradition and detention violate international conventions. The Nigerian government, however, maintains that he must face justice over allegations of treasonable felony and other charges.

As the legal battle continues, Kanu’s supporters remain vocal in demanding his release, while the court is expected to rule on the jurisdictional challenge in the coming days.
