Nnamdi Kanu And Sunday Igboho Are Not Nigeria’s Problem – Pastor Tunde Bakare

The Citadel Global Community Church’s general overseer, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has denounced the country’s crackdown on self-determination activists Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho.

He stated that the Sunday’s agitations and that of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), both began agitations in response to a “lack of justice and equity.”

“I don’t support any act of violence, taking up arms against the country and killing people. Those are in the realm of criminality and anybody doing that must be brought to book,” Bakare said in his Sunday service sermon on June 25, 2021, according to ThisDay newspapers…

“However, we must realise that what has given rise to the agitation is lack of justice and equity. When there is justice, when there is equity, agitation will die down. How can you be expending so much energy on Igboho and Kanu? Igboho and Kanu are not Nigeria’s problems. Nigeria must restructure and no one can stop that,” he declared.

On June 25, the leader of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and repatriated to Nigeria to face trial for treason while Sunday Igboho and his wife were nabbed at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airpot, Cotonou, Benin Republic.
