NLC To Resume Indefinite Strike In Abia On Tuesday

Plans to restart the indefinite strike that the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Abia State stopped in the state two months ago have been completed.

According to the NLC, the new strike would start at midnight on Monday, May 8, 2023.

Organized labor announced the resumption of its earlier-suspended indefinite strike in a statement signed by Emma Alozie, the NLC’s Abia secretary.

Labor officials unanimously approved the new strike at the conclusion of their conference last week, according to the NLC.

After midnight on May 8th, he ordered all labor unions, including those in local governments, to stop providing services to the Abia State government and to organize their members for an ongoing strike.

The State Executive Council, SEC, of Congress, unanimously voted to resume the postponed indefinite strike action on Friday, 5th May 2023, following thorough consideration of the multitude of challenges Abia workers and pensioners are facing at the hands of the Abia State administration.
