The President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has expressed gratitude to God, the security agencies and the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris over the safe release of the abducted Chairman of Abia State chapter of the Institute, Mr. Felix Olunkwa.
Dr. Neliaku in a statement he personally endorsed on Thursday said Mr. Olunkwa was released on Wednesday night, while he is at the moment recuperating at a medical facility.
“I spoke with him and his wife and they are all in high spirits”, the NIPR President announced.
He also conveyed the gratitude of Olunkwa to the NIPR family for rallying support and prayers during his incarceration in kidnappers’ den.
“We thank the Hon. Minister of Information and National Orientation for his wise counsel in managing the situation.
“We also thank members of NIPR Abia State for deploying effective and strategic communication tools in managing the crisis, particularly, the IPC Sir Anyaso Anyaso, VC Adeze Irehbu, Fellow Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu, etc”, the statement reads in part.
The NIPR boss also thanked Olunkwa’s immediate, especially the wife for rising to the occasion, as well as the Institute’s media friends and partner organisations for escalating the matter, appropriately.
