Nigerians Discover App Used In Creating Fake UTME Results

Amid the issues sparked by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s claims of result fabrication leveled against an Anambra student, Ejikeme Mmesoma, Nigerians on social media have uncovered an application that can be used to “upgrade” UTME marks.

Some Nigerians spotted the “JAMB-Funfake” program on both the Apple and Google Play stores in an attempt to get to the bottom of the problems surrounding Mmesoma’s “fake UTME result.”

Previously JAMB accused Mmesoma of using “software” to manually inflate her UTME result.

Though the Board did not mention the software, several internet users believe Mmesoma utilized the JAMB fun fake app to modify her results.

So far, several Nigerians have created “fake” UTME results on social media.

Truthwill Prevail, a Nigerian on Twitter, said after submitting his “UTME result” made by the program, “I got the highest score in JAMB.” This is a game, thus it’s easy to recognize phony outcomes. JAMB Fake Results Maker is an app.”

Wahab Akintayo, another Tweep, stated, “Using the Jamb fun App on Play Store, this is a fake UTME result I generated for Adekunle Ciroma Chukwuemeka.”

Nigerians on Facebook were not forgotten. After uploading a “UTME result” generated by the program, Facebook user Obioma Nwosu stated, “This is the issue. In order to solve the puzzle, you can generate jamb outcomes using the Google Play Store app JambFun-Fake result builder. I just made this one. What others did for fun, she elevated to a whole other level. And, knowing that this phony result generator exists, Jamb took this too seriously. They should forgive the girl; it’s only childish exuberance.”TJ Umar, another Facebook user, claimed after sharing his own “UTME result,” “I’ve never had an aggregate of 200 or above since I’ve been sitting for JAMB.” My previous scores were 190, 196, and 199.

Now I’ve finally fulfilled a long-held ambition of exceeding my target score. @ Whoever built this app truly understands the thrill of giving oneself something you’ll never have. So, what can I do to get a scholarship like that? This is a fabricated outcome. I made it for social networking purposes alone and do not support the material it provides. Please don’t take anything too seriously.”

To test the app’s legitimacy, our correspondent generated a “UTME” result for herself.

JAMB has since barred Mmesoma from taking the UTME for three years.
