Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah, a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, joined children across the country to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Children’s Day.
With a history dating back to 1949, Children’s Day was first established as the International Day for the Protection of Children. In Nigeria, the celebration was initiated by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo in 1950.
Hon Ogah, representing the Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency and chairing the House Committee on ATM, marked the occasion by celebrating with children in his constituency.
He encouraged them to be law-abiding citizens and wished them safety and protection as they participated in various activities, including match-pasts.
As Nigeria celebrates its 60th Children’s Day, Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah and citizens nationwide come together to promote the welfare and development of children, the future leaders of the nation.
