Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, has broken the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual.”
On Monday morning, the chef broke Lata Tondon’s 87-hour-45-minute record.
Hilda began the battle on Thursday at 4 p.m. by turning on her cooker.
Hilda continues despite having broken the record, with the goal of cooking for 96 hours and becoming the first person on the planet to do it.
Government officials, celebrities, priests, and other well-meaning Nigerians have continued to show their support for the restaurant.
Despite a torrential downpour in the early hours of Monday, Nigerians stood by her.
