Nigerian Air Force Appoints Maigida As New Spokesperson

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced appointments and redeployment of new Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Commandants of Tri-Service and Institutions.

Group Captain Joel Abioye issued a statement Wednesday on behalf of the Director of Public Relations & Information (DOPRI).

Abioye said the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao also approved a NAF spokesperson.

Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida takes over from ex-DOPRI, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, now Commander 551 NAF Station, Jos.

Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Jackson Yusuf, formerly Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP), HQ NAF, becomes Chief of Defence Policy and Plans (CDPP), Defence Headquarters.

AVM Idi Lubo, erstwhile Commandant Armed Forces Resettlement Centre is now COPP, HQ NAF.

AVM Mohammed Yakubu, immediate past Commandant Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) appointed Chief of Aircraft Engineering, HQ NAF.

AVM Ayoola Jolasinmi, ex-CDPP, DHQ, becomes Chief of Defence Space Administration; ex-Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji; AVM Anthony Tuwase is the new Chief of Defence Transformation and Innovation (CDTI), DHQ.

AVM Paul Masiyer is now Chief of Logistics, HQ NAF; AVM Ibikunle Daramola, ex-Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Ground Training Command (GTC) appointed Chief of Communications Information Systems (CCIS), HQ NAF.

AVM Samuel Chinda takes over as Chief of Air Intelligence, HQ NAF, AVM Anthony Ndace appointed Air Secretary, HQ NAF.

AVM Emmanuel Wonah, former Chief of Aircraft Engineering becomes the Commandant of Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

AVM Charles Ohwo, former CDTI assumes office as Commandant Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Lagos.

AVM Paul Jemitola, exAir Secretary now Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna; AVM Abraham Adole is the new Commandant, Air Force War College, Makurdi.

AVM Sayo Olatunde, former Commandant Air Force War College now the AOC, Ground Training Command, Enugu; AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe becomes the AOC Mobility Command, Yenagoa.

Air Commodore Olayinka Oyesola takes over as the Air Component Commander (Joint Task Force North East) Operation Hadin Kai.

The senior officers are expected to assume their offices on or before Friday, 6 January 2023.
