New Head Of Service Sworn-In

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Mrs Didi Walson-Jack.

This is as the Federal Executive Council (FEC) also conducted a valedictory session for the outgoing HoSF, Dr Folasade Esan.

Speaking during the swearing in, just before the Commencement of the of FEC meeting, Tinubu told Mrs Walson-Jack that she is stepping into a big shoe left behind by Mrs Esan.

The President also prayed that God will guide the new Head of Service with wisdom to lead the service alright.

On the outgoing HoSF, the President noted that she should be thanked for her exceptional tenure and “we must thank her for serving our nation exceptionally well, with dedication, efficiency and professionalism in the federal civil service.

“We express our gratitude for her unwavering commitment to the service of the nation.”

On his part, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume noted Mrs Esan’s dedication to duty and “genuine concern” for enhancing the performance of the civil servants in the country.

He said the outgoing Head of Service had been instrumental for evolving policies that strengthened performance in the federal civil service, adding that she is leaving “behind a legacy of excellence for the civil servants to follow.”

The new HoSF thanked President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her.

“’I must also thank the outgone HoS, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, for her mentorship and guidance throughout my career.

”I look forward to building on the existing reforms in a way that will bring innovation and creativity, so that the civil service can be more effective and efficient to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she said.
