The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has stopped attempts to smuggle illegal drugs into the UK by finding them concealed in bags of groundnuts and packages of tiger nuts.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in videos shared on X.com on Sunday.
Femi Babafemi also warned against accepting packages without thoroughly checking their contents.
Sharing the videos, he wrote, “Once again, never accept any package on your journey, no matter how genuine it looks, without a thorough search.
“These videos showing the moment NDLEA officers uncovered illicit drugs in parcels of tiger nuts bound for the UK and in bags of groundnuts in a bus reinforce this warning.”
