The NBM of Africa Worldwide, Abia Zone, has strongly condemned the recent spate of killings in Aba, calling for immediate security intervention and community collaboration to curb the rising violence.
In a statement following an executive meeting at its zonal secretariat in Aba, the organization expressed deep concern over the growing insecurity, urging security agencies and stakeholders to take swift and decisive action.
Hon. Amb. Chidi Idika, President of the Abia Zonal Chapter, described the killings as “tragic and unacceptable,” emphasizing the need to protect innocent lives. “The youth are the future leaders of tomorrow. It is devastating to witness innocent lives being lost to criminals and enemies of the state. These killings must stop immediately,” he stated.
He further stressed that the ongoing violence poses a significant threat to the progress and stability that the Abia State Government is working to achieve. The organization urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and actively support security measures.
“The synergy between the people and security forces is key to restoring peace and stability in Aba,” Idika added, calling for increased collaboration between citizens and security operatives.
The NBM of Africa, Abia Zone, also issued a stern warning to those behind the killings, urging them to desist immediately or face the full weight of the law. The group reaffirmed its commitment to peace and pledged full cooperation with security agencies, offering grassroots support to enhance safety measures.
