All is now set for the recognition of former First Lady of Nasarawa state, Hajiya Mairo Al-Makura, former acting chairman Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Amina Zakari, chairman Association of Nigerian Authors Abuja chapter, Halima Usman and others for their outstanding contributions for women development in education, business and leadership.

The event organised by Stand Tall Africa Initiative, STAI in collaboration with International Centre For Research on Women, ICRW is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 22nd May, 2021 at A-Class Park And Event, Kashim Ibrahim Way, Maitama Abuja.

Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, OFR will be the distinguished guest of honour at the event while Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar of Bayero University Kano will be the Guest speaker.

Usman, who currently holds swear as second term Chairman of ANA Abuja chapter has been at the forefront of the campaign for women empowerment in education as well as inclusion in governance.

In March this year, the chapter under her leadership organised an event themed Women In Art, Literature And Leadership: Achieving An Equal Future In A COVID-19 World in commemoration of this year International Women’s Day.

She has also used her initiative, HalimaFactor Community Initiative to advance girl child education, women economic empowerment and fair cultural practice.

Others to be honoured at the occasion include the Director National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies, NBAIS, Prof. Habiba Alfadarai, Director ICT, NBAIS Dr. Mardhiyyah Abbas Mashi and the Country Director, International Institute of Certified Investigation Professionals (IICFIP), Dr. Stacy C.A Nwodo.
