In a statement signed by Hon. Kalu Prince-Iroha and Chief Stanley Mba on behalf of the alumni body, the association described her passing as a painful loss, not just to her family but also to the entire Ohafia and UNICAL communities.

Barr. Okereke served as Vice President of NAOS UNICAL during the 1998/99 session, leaving a lasting impact through her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to justice. The alumni body praised her as a beacon of hope and inspiration, noting that she tirelessly fought for students’ welfare and promoted justice and equality.

“She embodied the spirit of leadership with grace, integrity, and compassion, always putting the needs of others before her own,” the statement read.

Her tenure in NAOS UNICAL was marked by unity and a strong sense of camaraderie among students, as she championed academic excellence and social justice. Even beyond her student leadership, she carved a niche for herself in the legal profession, becoming a voice for justice and inspiring many young people to pursue their dreams with determination.
