Capt. Chris Ona Najomo was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday to serve as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
Najomo’s confirmation followed the adoption of the report by the Senate Committee on Aviation during plenary.
The chairman of the committee, Sen. Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), presented the report and stated that the committee had screened the nominee, deeming him suitable for the appointment.
“This is due to his vast experience and outstanding contributions to the aviation industry,” he said.
He urged the Senate to approve the committee’s recommendations for Najomo’s confirmation as the director general of the NCAA.
Senator Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno) also commented, noting that although he was not a member of the aviation committee, the nominee’s resume was impressive, and there were no adverse security reports from relevant agencies against him.
Monguno urged the Senate to approve the committee’s recommendations for confirmation.
The Senate then confirmed Najomo’s nomination as the Director General of the NCAA.
