The President-elect of Ebem Ohafia Development Union, EODU, Ohafia local government area of Abia State, Mr Emeka Mba popularly known as Bam Bam has said the Saturday’s election of new executive under his headship is the beginning of a new dawn in the history of the community.

He expressed his commitment to ensure the transformation of all sectors of the economy of the community, adding that he will lead the union to an enviable height.

ABN TV had brought you a report on Saturday that at the election which took place at Abum Square with a total of 112 delegates, Mr Mba polled a total of 53 votes to beat his closest rival, Barr. Emeka Ibem Uduma who scored 50 votes.

Prof. Emeka Okorie Awa came third with 1 vote.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Mba promised to tackle insecurity, create a platform that will gainfully employ and empower youths and people of Ebem in the next four years of his administration.

He further pledged to bring to an end, the deplorable state of the roads, and other infrastructure in Ebem.

The President-elect appealed to all Ebemites to join him in his avowed determination to bring the desired change Ebem has been yearning for.

He also extended hands of fellowship to all who contested, imploring them to put Ebem first before their interest as it is time to rebuild the community and put it on the map of development.

Earlier in his remark, the paramount Ruler of Ebem kingdom and Kpoke 1, Ekeluogo Autonomous Community, Ebem Ohafia, HRM. Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, urged the new Executives to see their election as a clarion call to serve the community selflessly and bring their wealth of experience to bear for the overall development and transformation of Ebem community.

According to the Royal Father, the essence of the Development Union is to find ways to initiate ideas and formulate policies that will move the community to a greater height.

The traditional ruler also promised to work effectively with the new executives who he believes, will be honest, humble, transparent, and enthusiastic in the discharge of their duties.

The new executive members are,

8. Mr. Samuel Amogu- Financial Secretary

9. Mr. Uga Kalu Nwoke- Deputy Financial Secretary

10. Engr. Ifeanyi Okali Fakzy – Publicity Secretary

11. Mr. Iro Agwu Orieke- Deputy Publicity Secretary.

They will be sworn in on 1st January 2022 to run the affairs of the Union for four years.
