My AFCON Goal Against Cameroon Was Special – Lookman

Ademola Lookman has reflected on his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Lookman was one of Nigeria’s top performers at the competition, finishing as joint-top scorer with William Troost-Ekong.

The 26-year-old was the hero in Nigeria’s Round of 16 victory against eternal rivals Cameroon, with his brace sending the Super Eagles to the quarter-finals.

“My favourite goal was the second goal against Cameroon, it gave me goose bumps, my parents were watching on,” the winger said in an interview with Calister Enejele.

Lookman also explained how it felt to be Nigeria’s joint-top scorer in his first-ever AFCON tournament.

“Very happy, obviously as an attacking player, we always want to help the team by doing that and the team was amazing, everyone helped out,” he said.

“It was amazing, first tournament with the team, it was something I really, really enjoyed.”
