My Administration Giving Attention To Physically Challenged – Gov. Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has emphasized that his administration will continue to put a smile on the face of the physically challenged in the state.

Adeleke also stated that his government would not rest on its oars in making sure that teachers, especially those attending to people with special needs, are adequately motivated.

The Governor stated this at the handing over ceremony of the inclusive education equipment and materials intervention to children and young persons with disabilities in mainstream schools in Osogbo on Thursday.

Represented by his Deputy, Kola Adewusi, Adeleke disclosed that within one hundred days in office, people with special needs have benefitted immensely from the present administration through interventions of different kinds, ranging from financial support to mobility-enhancing equipment.

“My administration is committed to continuing to put smiles on the faces of the physically challenged.

“We will also not relent in making sure that teachers, especially those attending to people with special needs, are adequately motivated.”

Adeoye Oyebola, The Director of Social Mobilisation and Special Education who represented the Executive Secretary SUBEB, Yahaya Bakare appreciated the governor for the uncommon traits of leadership he has been displaying towards the need of the physically challenged in terms of free education provision, as well as a free meal in all special schools across the State.

While presenting the disability draft bill to the Governor, the Chairman, the Joint Association of People With Disability, Stephen Oluwaseyi, called for the enactment of the disability law which will reduce the discrimination and sentiments experienced by the physically challenged.
