The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has issued a stern warning to the motoring public to refrain from assaulting its operatives in the course of discharging their duties.
The FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, Mr Anthony Uga, gave the warning while speaking with newsmen in Sango-Ota on Monday.
According to him, the warning was imperative as FRSC had zero tolerance for assaulting its personnel.
“Any motorist who decides to assault FRSC personnel will be apprehended and handed over to the police and the person will be charged to court accordingly for assaulting a uniformed personnel.
“However, whenever it happens, the perpetrator would face the wrath of the law, ” he said.
Uga added that it was an offence for an FRSC operative to assault the motoring public, and anyone engaged in such an act would be charged for an offence against members of the public.
The sector commander noted that the FRSC was not a conquering force but operatives to maintain sanity on the highways.
