Most ADC, APC Aspirants Are Thieves – Ex-NERC Boss Amadi

A former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, has launched a scathing attack on Nigeria’s political class, describing most individuals seeking public office under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and All Progressives Congress (APC) as “thieves.”

Amadi, who is also the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, made the allegations in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday. He further accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of being a “compromised, corrupt and biased” institution incapable of prosecuting members of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to the former NERC boss, corruption runs deep among Nigerian political office holders, with “almost all” governors and legislators implicated in looting public funds, except for former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and a handful of others.

“Two Sides of Truth: Almost all Nigerian govs & legislators are corrupt. They stole, with exception of @PeterObi & one or two. Most people running for office in ADC or APC are thieves. @officialEFCC is a compromised, corrupt & biased organization. It cannot prosecute Tinubu’s team,” Amadi wrote.

His remarks have sparked debate among political observers, raising fresh concerns about the credibility of anti-corruption efforts in the country and the integrity of those seeking elective positions.
