The Deputy Commissioner of Police Mobile Force coordinating the deployment of Police Mobile Force personnel across the five states of the South East, Aderemi Adeoye has said his men are in Abia State to serve criminal elements justice while ensuring that people of the State go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.
ABN TV reports that Adeoye spoke on Tuesday when he was addressing men of the Police Mobile Force who have been deployed to the state to quell the attacks on police stations and Formations, Government, Institutions, Sister Security Agencies, and Personnel as well as innocent citizens.
He said the police authorities have launched Operation Restore Peace which he said seeks to put an end to attacks, attacks, to restore law and order, to restore peace, and to ensure normalcy return as quickly as possible so the good people of Abia state and indeed the entire South East can resume their normal businesses and normal living.

He said, “We felt like every ordinary citizen on the street that a situation where life is brutish and short cannot be accepted as an index of proper living and development and so the President gave order for the Police to intervene and restore normalcy and the inspector general of Police came to Enugu to lunch this Operation, Operation Restore Peace with clear directives and mandate on what is to be done we are happy to observe that the objectives have been archived and the men have kept to the rules of engagement, very professional in the discharge of their duties.
“They have respected fundamental human rights and even when there was an attack on this headquarters the men stood their grounds two men lost their lives in protecting lives and properties that was why we observed two-minute silence in the honor of their memory.
“The police will do whatever it takes to ensure the benefit of those who lost their lives will be promptly paid and those who are injured in the course of duty, their treatment will be taken over, for those who are in remote locations we will locate them and their cost of treatment will be taken over.
“Whatever benefit that are due to our men who have to perform so gallantly will not be denied them and we are here to encourage them to boost their morale and to let them know that we feel their pain even in the face of a shortage of resources, they have remained true to their calling and they have remained true to their oath of office,” he said.
While stating the readiness of the police to tackle all forms of criminality in the southeast zone, Adeoye noted that security has significantly improved, urging Abians to go about their normal businesses.
