Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs, has been praised by Dr. Amina Kundiri, Director General of the National APC Women Advocacy Organization (NAWA-ORG), for her efforts to fight gender-based violence.
Kundiri expressed confidence in the capacity of the minister to deliver on her mandate and improve lives.
She said they would work with the minister to bring about better life for women and children in the country.
“We are raising our voices to demand an end to the scourge of gender-based violence against women and girls in Nigeria, across Africa, and indeed all women across the globe.
“This is not just a cry for justice; it is a call for action. We are in tune with our Minister for Women Affairs, Imaan Suleman Ibrahim, and our First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was a lawmaker and had supported women, and that role is heightened more than ever now she is mother of the nation.
“We urge the National Assembly to prioritise and enforce laws that protect our daughters, sisters, and mothers,” she said.
She said NAWA-ORG unites women leaders in Nigeria to harness the power of collaboration with APC and government to drive progress through creative public-private partnerships.
“We empower women and their families, honouring Nigeria’s cultural values while fostering unity with male counterparts to build a future and contribute to national advancement.
“A Nigeria where empowered and unified women contribute to shaping the nation’s socio-economic and political development through strategic alliances, stakeholder engagement, and inclusive community-focused initiatives to uplift lives and shift perceptions to enhanced, disciplined, and progressive, with wide acceptance for APC and the government,” Kundiri said.
