The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against playing politics with the new national minimum wage.

Rather than divide labour over their demands, Primate Ayodele advised Tinubu to work on price control as, according to him, hardship would persist after the new minimum wage is implemented.

In a statement by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet said hardship would persist with an increased minimum wage if the prices of commodities are not well managed.

Ayodele said, ‘’Tinubu must not play with the worker’s minimum wage. Their initial request was too much but they have come down to a reasonable level now and I want to advise President Tinubu not to play politics with it by trying to divide them.

‘’However, let there be price control because without it, minimum wage is zero no matter the amount.’’

Organized labour is demanding the sum of N250,000 from the Nigerian Government.

But representatives of the Federal Government have proposed the sum of N62,000.

However, state governors have complained that they would not be able to pay workers N62,000 as minimum wage.
