A popular Ishi ewu joint operative in Imo, Mr. Theophilus Anozie has joined his ancestors after a protracted illness, ABN TV reports.
He died in the hospital on Sunday at an undisclosed medical facility at the age of 77.
Confirming his death to ABN TV on Monday, the first son of the deceased, Ikenna Anozie noted that his late father had been on admission where his ailment was being managed for sometime.
Mr. Ikenna while expressing regret over his father’s demise believes his time to join his ancestors has come.
“He was admitted in the hospital but we don’t know how come, I believe it was his time. He told me he was going and I never knew what he meant by he was going and before you know it, he gave up” he said.
Mess 77 who hails from Oru West in Imo State was one of those who made the Ishi ewu and nkwobi delicacy popular in the 70s and 80s as well as 90s.
He was said to have a good mastery of the Eastern delicacies even before the new generation fast food and restaurants began to spring up.
