Chairman of Ohafia local government area, Abia State, Dr. Okoroafor Ukiwe has applauded officers and men of the Nigeria Army, 14 Brigade Goodluck Jonathan Barracks Ebem Ohafia for rolling out a free medical outreach as part of activities to mark the 2021 Army Day celebration in their host community.
He made the comment on Monday in a chat with ABN TV shortly after the commencement of the outreach which took place at Government College Ohafia.
Dr. Ukiwe commended the Nigerian Army for standing out in touching the lives of its host communities through the advancement of their Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR as well as ensuring that the people are secured.

He noted that the Army has taken off his shoulder the burden of making his people healthy, adding that it is something to be grateful for.
The Ohafia council also remarked that the Nigerian Army has demonstrated that they are friends of the people in addition to the security the people enjoy through their presence, assuring that Ohafia local government will support the security agency in carrying out its duty in the interest of all.
“It actually proves that the Nigerian Army is our friend you understand the Nigeria Army is here to serve the people of the community, to serve the people of the Nation, Ohafia people are peace-loving people.
“What happened was due to few bad people that came into Ohafia and wanted to use Ohafia as a base thankfully the Army stood up to the occasion and restore peace in the local government so Ohafia people are friendly and peace-loving people and they are always committed in the development and I believe this will continue,” he said.
