Renowned politician, businessman, and philanthropist Mayor Lucky Igbokwe was celebrated with a hero’s welcome at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, as he returned from the United States to support the concluding stages of the Ohuhu Youth Forum Unity Cup Football Championship.
Accompanied by his family, Igbokwe was received with cheers and admiration by the executive members of the Ohuhu Youth Forum.
The Unity Cup, fully sponsored by the Don Lulu Foundation, transcends football. It serves as a platform to unite the diverse youth groups of Ohuhu, Umuahia, Abia State, while nurturing their talents and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Iheanacho Uchenna, President of the Ohuhu Youth Solidarity Union, expressed profound appreciation for Mayor Igbokwe’s unwavering support. “The Unity Cup is not just a competition; it’s a movement for change,” Uchenna remarked. “It’s about fostering connections, encouraging positive values, and addressing critical issues like drug abuse and cultism through youth engagement.”
The championship, now in its final stages, features thrilling quarterfinal, semifinal, and final matches scheduled to kick off on Sunday, December 29, and conclude with a grand finale on January 5, 2025.
