Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, a prominent political figure in Abia State and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reaffirmed his allegiance to the party, putting to rest growing speculation about a potential defection.
Speaking after a recent meeting with Julius Abure, National Chairman of the Labour Party, and Chinedum Orji, former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Igbokwe addressed rumors surrounding his political future.
“I am still in PDP. If there are other intentions, I will make it public, but as of now, I am still consulting,” he stated.
He added that he would soon reveal the reasons for his engagements with figures from other political parties, further fueling speculation about his next political move.
Despite the growing chatter, Igbokwe’s public reaffirmation of loyalty to the PDP has, for now, eased concerns within the party and among his supporters.
