The family of High Chief Sunday N. Nwokeoji has announced the passing of their beloved matriarch, Late Chief Neoma, Ezinne Phoebe Nwokeoji, who died peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 85.

A native of Amuzi in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, Chief Neoma was married to High Chief S.N. Nwokeoji (JP) of Umuawa Alaocha in Umuahia North LGA. She was a woman of great virtue, wisdom, and unwavering faith, who dedicated her life to the service of God, her family, and her community.
Fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Chief Neoma lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and strength. Her home was a place of warmth, where many sought comfort, counsel, and inspiration.
In a statement signed by her son, Nwokeoji Anthony O., on behalf of the family, the Nwokeoji family expressed deep sorrow over the loss but take solace in the impactful and godly life she lived.
“Her departure is a great loss to us, but we are comforted by the legacy of love, faith, and unity she leaves behind,” the family stated.
Burial arrangements will be made public in due course.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
