Mascot Kalu Promises Abiriba Clan Of Constructing Rural-Urban Interconnectivity Of Roads If Elected Governor

The governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia state, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu , has for the umpteenth time emphasized how paramount the construction of rural-urban connectivity of roads would be to his administration’s intentions to turn Abia into a vibrant trade hub and open up economic activities in the state, if elected into office.

He reiterated this while touring around the ABSIEC wards in Abiriba, the Enachioken Ancient Kingdom in Ohafia L.G.A., yesterday as his campaign and the APP’s tour trains brought the gospel of “Making Abia Great Again” to the Abia North Senatorial District, his home district.

Chief Kalu, who is a born businessman, recalling his findings in Ikwuano, which is a polycentric area, assured the people of Abiriba, who are known for their trading enterprises, that his government will enhance the movement of goods and services by opening the interconnected roads of the rural-urban centers.

Last week I was in Ikwuano, and I found that it has boundaries with Aba, Isiala Ngwa, Bende, Arochukwu, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River. So you can see that such a place can become a trade hub if such access roads are opened up.

“My administration will focus on opening up the access roads in such a way that, for instance, farm produce and other goods and services can seamlessly move from Abiriba to Nkporo; Igbere to Abiriba; Abiriba to Ohafia; and Ohafia to Arochukwu for trading.”

Five ABSIEC wards in Abiriba: Amaogudu 1 and 2; Ameke 1 and 2; and Agborji turned out en masse to receive the APP governorship candidate and his entourage.

The campaign train of Chief Kalu, which was joined by Rt. Hon. Prince Arua Arunsi, APP’s candidate for Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal Constituency; Comr. Emeka Adile, State Administrative Secretary of APP; Comr. Ojisi Iro Ogbaeja, State Chairman of the OUK Movement; Chief Agu U. Agu (AKA Oshimiri), and a host of other team members, also visited the palaces of HRH Eze Eme Uguru Ikpoka of the Amaogudu Autonomous Community; HRH Eze Osukpam of Amaeke; and HRH Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu (Enachioken) for royal blessings.
