Markets, Motor Parks, Others To Remain Shut As Abia Holds Sanitation Exercise Saturday 7am-9am

As Abia State holds monthly sanitation exercise on Saturday, May 29, all markets, motor parks, private and public transport companies as well as business premises are expected to remain closed between the hours of 7am and 9am.

They are to use the period to carryout their own clean up exercise.

A release signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment Iheanyichukwu Ubani says movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except for those on essential duties who would be required to present on demand, valid identification or any authentic authorization for such exemption.

It further directs Chairmen of all the Local Government Councils, Traditional rulers, Town Union Leaders, Religious Leaders, Youth and women Organizations to monitor and sensitize their people on the importance of the exercise and to participate as well.

Officers and men of the Nigerian police, Federal Rod Safety Corps, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps are directed to assemble at their usual places of takeoff for deployment.

Those not on essential duty are advised to stay at home and observe the exercise.
