A 35-year-old man Damilare Adekojo has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrate Court for allegedly molesting five boys sexually.
Adekojo reportedly committed the offences between October 2021 and February 2023 at Bada Community, Ala, Akure.
He was alleged to have sexually molested the five minors by masturbating their sexual organs without their consent.
A five-count charge bordering on sexual assaults were preferred against him.
Adekojo pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The prosecutor, Taiwo Oniyere, said the offences contravened Section 217 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1 Laws of the Ondo State Nigeria, 2006.
Oniyere urged the court to remand the defendant to prison custody.
Lawyer to Adekojo, Mr. M.A. Fadunmo, opposed the prosecutor’s application for his client to be remanded to prison custody.
He prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
Presiding Magistrate, T. O. Olusola-Olujobi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Olusola-Olujobi said the defendant be remanded to the Olokuta Correctional Centre pending when he fullfill his bail condition
The case was adjourned to April 2, 2024, for hearing.
