A middle-aged man, Peter Adebayo, has allegedly killed his friend, simply identified as Lekan, in Ondo State.
The suspect was said to be under the influence of drugs when he allegedly carried out the act.
The incident happened at the Ireakari-Oloko junction area of the state capital, Akure.
Sources, who confirmed the incident to our reporter, alleged that Adebayo had taken a substance known as “ice”, a crystal form of amphetamine-based drugs before killing his friend.
One of the sources, who resides in the same neighbourhood as the suspect but pleaded anonymity, alleged that the pipes used in taking the ice were found in the room.
He further alleged that both the suspect and the victim took the drug before the incident happened.
According to him, a friend of the victim raised an alarm when he discovered the deceased in a pool of blood.
“We still don’t know why he killed his friend (Lekan). When we asked him, he was saying unintelligible things. Both of them are from Ede town in Osun.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident, saying the police have arrested the suspect.
