Man Killed In Okene After Alleged Attempt To Assault Married Woman

A tragic incident has rocked the Idoji community in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State after a man, identified as Ahmed Kalo, reportedly lost his life following an alleged attempt to force himself on a married woman.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 23, 2025, during a heated confrontation between Kalo and the woman, said to be the wife of one Muktari Avere.

Community sources disclosed that Kalo allegedly tried to assault the woman and threatened her with a knife during the struggle. In an attempt to defend herself, the woman reportedly overpowered him, seized the weapon, and stabbed him, leading to his death on the spot.

The shocking development has since thrown the Idoji and Inike axis of Okene into tension, with residents calling on authorities to launch a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, police operatives are yet to issue an official statement, but community leaders have urged calm while investigations continue.
