A man identified as Uchechukwu Ogbonna Uzoanya of Umuokatu Amapu in Abia State has been apprehended after allegedly making away with 16mm-rods riser pillar already mounted on a building site, ABN TV reports.
He allegedly perpetrated the act on Saturday 26th August 2023 when he invaded the building and stole the items, owner of the construction site, Ifesinachi Okite Okite said in a social media post.
According to him, he delegated some persons to trace the whereabouts of the suspect.
When he was eventually caught, he confessed to the crime and handed over to the police.
He said, “I set our brothers to spy on him and we caught him this evening and he confessed that he was the one who stole the material but that he sold them to people who buy condemned irons “ndi akpakara”.
“Meanwhile, I have handed him over to the police.”
