An Ikeja Special Offences Court yesterday sentenced Nojeem Badmus (20) to death by hanging for robbery.
Badmus was convicted of the two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.
Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe held that the prosecution proved its case against the defendant beyond reasonable doubt.
Justice Abike-Fadipe sentenced the defendant to 21-years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit robbery.
She said: “On the charge of armed robbery, you will be hanged on the neck until you are dead and may the Lord have mercy on you.”
The defense counsel, Ajibade Benson, prayed the court to be lenient as the defendant was a first time offender while the prosecution counsel, Adebanke Ogunde, thanked the judge for ‘a sound judgment’.
