Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State currently leads all other contenders in the state’s gubernatorial election.
On Saturday, elections were held in all 33 local government districts of the state.
Three prominent candidates contested the election: Makinde, who is running for re-election on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Adebayo Adelabu of Accord.
Based on the results that have been disclosed Makinde is said to be ahead of all other contenders.
As of the time of posting this report on Sunday, the results of eighteen (18) of the thirty-three (33) local government areas have been announced.

The results were announced at the collation site, which was located within the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ibadan.
According to the election results, Makinde of the PDP won seventeen (17) of the eighteen (18) local government areas.
The election results also reflect that Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won in one (1) local government area.
However, Adebayo Adelabu, the Accord candidate, has failed to win in any of the local government areas.
The remaining fifteen (15) local government areas’ results have yet to be announced.
