The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for Abia State governorship election, Professor Nnenna Otti, has adjourned the collation of Governorship Election Results in the State Monday, March 20th, 2023 at 10am.
This, she said is because about seven local government results are not ready yet.
ABN TV reports that the remaining seven(7) local governments yet to present their Governorship results are ; Aba North, Aba South, Obingwa, Ohafia, Osisioma, Umuahia North and Umuahia South.
The results from the available LGs were announced by the electoral Officers of the various local governments and presented to the Returning Officer, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Professor Nnenna Otti.
Out of the eighteen (18) political parties that participated in the Governorship election in the state, the results of the two leading parties, Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are as follows;

Umunneochi- LP 5940, PDP 3198
Ukwa West- LP 2833, PDP 4622
Bende – LP 9886, PDP 3410
Isialangwa North – LP 7323, PDP 21741
Isialangwa South -LP 7589, PDP 9093
Arochukwu – LP 12689, PDP 1280
Isuikwuato – LP 8228, PDP 2204
Ikwuano – LP 7054, PDP 2427
Ugwunagbo – LP 2153, PDP 2538
Total number of votes so far polled by the Labour Party is 65968 while the total number of votes polled by the Peoples Democratic Party is 52842.
