“Learn To Consult” – Eze Ukoha Advises Governor Alex Otti (Video)

His Royal Highness, Eze Ukoha Kalu Ukoha JP, the Paramount Ruler of the Ancient Ebem Kingdom in Ohafia and traditional ruler of the Ebem Autonomous Community, has called on Governor Alex Otti of Abia State to increase consultations with traditional rulers to enhance effective governance and grassroots development.

In an exclusive interview with ABN TV, the revered monarch commended the governor’s developmental efforts across the state but emphasized that regular engagement with custodians of tradition would lead to better policy implementation and a more significant impact on the people.

In all humility, we love and appreciate the work you are doing for us. We want you to do more. But my advice to you, our dear governor, is to learn to consult. No leader can succeed without consultation,” Eze Ukoha stated.

The Pokewan pointed out that previous governors of the state held frequent meetings with traditional rulers, a practice he believes was instrumental in addressing the people’s needs effectively. He expressed concern over the limited interactions with Governor Otti since he assumed office.

We, the traditional rulers, are the ones closest to the grassroots. We understand the nitty-gritty of our people’s challenges. Yet, in nearly two years, we have only met with you once. This is not in our collective interest. If you meet with us at least once every quarter, you will be better informed about the realities on the ground,” he advised.

Quoting Matthew 5:16, Eze Ukoha urged the governor to ensure his developmental efforts touch every part of Abia State, noting that visible and impactful projects would speak louder than political campaigns.

As it is written in Matthew 5:16, ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.’ Your light is already shining, but let it shine brighter so that all parts of Abia State will see and feel it positively,” he said.

The monarch further extended his best wishes to the people of Abia State and all humanity, encouraging individuals to embrace personal transformation in the new year.

The year has changed, but for real progress to happen, man must change. We keep calling for change, but true change will only come when people renew their ways. May this change come sooner rather than later,” he concluded.

Eze Ukoha’s call underscores the vital role traditional rulers play in governance and community development, urging a collaborative approach to leadership for a better Abia State.
