Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing security across the state during a facility assessment tour of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Formation in Awkuzu.

Governor Soludo, who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, inspected the facility on Saturday as part of efforts to strengthen security infrastructure and improve law enforcement operations.

During the visit, CP Orutugu provided the Governor with updates on the Command’s ongoing security strategies, including efforts to re-arrest the fleeing suspects involved in the kidnap and murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, the lawmaker representing Onitsha 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The Commissioner also announced a reorganisation of the RRS unit, which includes a review of suspects in custody to ensure transparency and accountability in police investigations. “The reorganisation of the RRS unit is designed to improve its operational effectiveness in crime prevention and law enforcement,” he stated, adding that the police will enhance evidence gathering to ensure successful prosecutions.

Governor Soludo’s visit underscores his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents by supporting security agencies with necessary reforms and resources.
